New Delhi: So far India has recorded higher than 27,000 deaths and above 27.4 lakh new cases on Sunday, its highest of all according to reports. The Covid growth rate seems to be decreasing than earlier reports. However, deaths rose at a more accelerated pace of nearly 15%, with the daily cases crossing 1%.

The weekly toll crossed 25,000 for the primary time as the nation reported 27,243 losses during May. The increase in weekly cases decreased considerably, symbolizing that possibly the second wave had entered or was nearing its zenith.

On Sunday, daily cases dropped below 4 lakh for the first time in five days as 3,66,902 fresh infections were detected in the country. The daily numbers have declined on each successive day.

Fatalities from the virus too dipped on Sunday to 3,751 after remaining over 4,000 in the past two days. CFR is the percentage of patients who have succumbed to the virus out of the total number testing positive. CFR has remained around 1% for the last few days.

The nation has reported a decrease in the growth rate of Covid cases, however, the death toll keeps its pace
