Guwahati: Assam’s overall covid tally rose to 2,22,367 as 499 more people tested positive for the contagion. A total of 85 patients infected with the virus also recovered over the past 24 hours. The state now has 3,613 active covid cases.

Various district administrations have imposed Section 14 CrPC in Assam to control the spread of the disease. Amidst this, Kamrup Metro has topped the list with the highest number of Covid cases followed by Tinsukia and Dibrugarh.

Meanwhile the Covid vaccination is underway in the state. With Bihu festivities in full swing, the state government has issued Bihu SOPs to be followed strictly by Bihu committee members so in order to control the spread of the disease.
