Bhubaneswar: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) today issued an extensive warning in the view of Cyclone Jawad in India. It has additionally informed that the cyclone is likely to hit with 'very heavy rainfall' in Odhisa, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal on Saturday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reviewed the preparation to deal with the circumstances resulting from the expected form of Cyclone Jawad. He has instructed officials to take every probable measure to guarantee that people are securely evacuated.

IMD said that a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal would intensify into Jawad. This cyclone is expected to reach the north Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coast throughout the morning of December 4, with the wind velocity varying up to 100 kilometres per hour.

 IMD has issued daily bulletins with up to date forecasts to all the concerned states. Moreover, around 65 ongoing trains were cancelled from the Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh for December 3 and 4 due to the cyclone.

Odisha government has already issued guidelines for the cyclone. A red warning has been issued for 4 Odisha districts, an Orange alert for 7 and a Yellow alert for 4 districts predicting 'heavy' to 'very heavy rainfall. 

In Odisha, around 266 rescue teams, including National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Fire Services and Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force, will be deployed in coastal areas.

The weather office report stated that very heavy rainfall is expected in West Bengal in different parts from December 3 to 6. Moreover, all Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam district schools will be closed today and tomorrow.

Cyclone Jawad is expected to have a moderate impact in Jharkhand. IMD officials stated that Jharkhand had issued no warning because of the cyclone.
