The cyclonic storm 'Remal' continued its trajectory, advancing east-northeastwards at a speed of 15 kmph over the past six hours...

Digital Desk: Cyclonic storm 'Remal' wreaked havoc across Assam, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. With heavy rainfall and fierce winds, the storm wreaked havoc across the state on Tuesday, causing significant disruptions to normal life.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier issued warnings of gusty winds ranging from 40 to 50 km/h over the next three hours. These strong winds led to disruptions in various districts including Bajali, Baksa, Barpeta, Biswanath, and more, as reported by local sources.

Responding to the severe weather conditions, authorities took precautionary measures by ordering the closure of schools in several districts to ensure the safety of students. Nagaon and Guwahati were among the districts where administrations declared the closure of all schools. Similar actions were taken in other districts, with multiple schools closing down to protect students and staff from the adverse weather.

Meanwhile, the cyclonic storm 'Remal' continued its trajectory, advancing east-northeastwards at a speed of 15 kmph over the past six hours, according to the IMD. The deep depression over Bangladesh intensified the impact of the storm, posing further challenges for the affected regions.
