Majuli: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee on Wednesday appointed Dadhi Barua as the acting President of the Majuli district Congress committee. The move comes after the resignation of the Congress president of Majuli Rajib Lochan Pegu yesterday.

Moreover, Dwipen Bora has been appointed as the acting president of Sonitpur district Congress Committee and Swapan Das has been named as the acting president of Guwahati city.

The decision comes from the Assam Congress Pradesh Committee after the Congress presidents of the districts filed their resignation.

However, the responsibilities to the above-mentioned leaders are entrusted until regular DCC presidents are selected by the Congress party.

Recently, Congress President of Majuli district Rajib Lochan Pegu filed his resignation from his position while Congress leader Jury Sharma Bordoloi also left the congress party with 50 other members of the Guwahati District Congress Committee.
