Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted India's Deaflympics team on Saturday, congratulating them on their best-ever performance at the event, which took place in Caxias do Sul, Brazil, starting from May 1 to 15.

PM Modi tweeted, "I will never forget the interaction with our champions who have brought pride and glory for India at the Deaflympics. The athletes shared their experiences, and I could see the passion and determination in them. My best wishes to all of them," 


One of his tweets reads, "It is due to our champions that time's Deaflympics have been the best for India!"



Sports Minister Anurag Thakur also attended the ceremony.


The Indian Deaflympics team finished in the top ten nations in the sport for the first time, with 16 medals, up from just five in 2017.
