Richa Ghosh's brilliant fifty and Shreyanka Patil's outstanding four-wicket haul on March 10 brought RCB tantalisingly close.

Digital Desk: In the grand finale of Women's Premier League (WPL 2024), Delhi Capitals will lock horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi. One victory would take RCB from being in danger of being eliminated from the competition. It would have greatly boosted their confidence if they had defeated the Mumbai Indians (MI), the reigning champions, twice in a row.

The chances are by no means in RCB's favour going into the championship match against Delhi Capitals (DC). With the Capitals having a 4-0 win-loss record against the Bengaluru-based club, Smriti Mandhana has failed to outsmart the renowned Meg Lanning.

Richa Ghosh's brilliant fifty and Shreyanka Patil's outstanding four-wicket haul on March 10 brought RCB tantalisingly close. Richa was run out at the non-striker's end with two runs needed off the final ball, devastatingly ending RCB's winning run.

However, RCB might find motivation in their comeback victory over MI moving into the championship game. The Challengers had a 0-3 record against Harmanpreet Kaur's squad going into their critical league match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Subsequently, though, MI was eliminated from the competition as Ellyse Perry, Shreyanka, and others raised the deck. With their backs to the walls, the Royals rallied to defend 135 runs in the Eliminator.

DC’s Lanning has mastered the art of winning finals, having led Australia to 5 ICC titles. Mandhana, on the other hand, is learning the tricks of leadership and needs to be on top of her game on Super Sunday.
