Digital Desk: The president of Delhi Football and a senior administrator, Shaji Prabhakaran, was chosen as the new secretary general of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Saturday.

The AIFF's newly created executive committee, which is led by President Kalyan Chaubey, made the selection, which went according to plan.

The choice was made at the Football House during the first executive committee meeting of the new regime, which was presided over by Chaubey.

The president suggested Prabhakaran be the new secretary general of the AIFF, and all of the members unanimously agreed, according to a statement from the AIFF.

When Chaubey was elected as the first player president of the federation in its 85-year history on Friday, Prabhakaran, who was at the centre of the group calling for a change in the way the AIFF operated, did not contested for office.

The AIFF president welcomed the newcomers and said: "According to the Honourable Supreme Court's order, six former famous players are now officially a part of the Committee for the first time."

"We must cooperate, and at no point should any individual ego stand in the way of our efforts to advance Indian football as a team. Success requires discipline, thus we must be responsible and adhere to the deadlines."
