Digital Desk: In horrifying news from Delhi, a
person was caught on tape raping a stray dog in a park in Hari Nagar. The
entire incident was videotaped, and the footage has gone viral on social media,
with many people criticizing the man for his horrible act of animal cruelty.
An animal feeder who witnessed the
crime and videotaped it phoned authorities to report it. According to a
screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation, police officials denied knowing about
the dog's rape. "SHO persuaded him not to file a complaint, saying that if
the individual returned 2-3 days later, they would take action..."
Along with denouncing the man's heinous behaviour,
other Twitter users chastised the Delhi Police for ignoring the incident.
Pankhuri Pathak, a member of the All India Congress
Committee (AICC), has also spoken out against it, questioning why no charges
have been brought. She tweeted to the Delhi Police and a few other agencies,
"Let us be clear. @DelhiPolice is sheltering and assisting a rapist by not
filing a FIR and arresting this monster. What is preventing SHO Harinagar from
acting? (sic)"
"Is this not a
crime?" she asked, referring to the SHO's alleged behaviour.
"Shame on us," one
internet user said. And shame on the system for failing to reinforce the laws
that should have prevented such tragedies." "Everyone is condemning
the government, but no one is opposing the mindset of those who are doing all
this crap," said another. "Shame on the system that is so weak
towards justice, the law and order that is denying justice to voiceless living
souls," said another. Mankind had descended to its lowest degree."
