Condemning the heinous act, the bar association of Dhemaji has decided to keep themselves away from defending the accused.
The incident has shaken the entire state of Assam and several rallies were taken out seeking justice for the brave heart.
She took her last breath on Wednesday after fighting for over five days.
She was undergoing treatment in Brahmaputra Nursing Home in Dibrugarh.
She was a resident of Naba Kathbaru village in Dhakuakhana and was attacked by the accused with a machete last week.
The accused also attacked Nandita’s classmate and her father who were also seriously injured and ongoing treatment at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh.
Anguished over the death of the victim, people took to the streets, demanding 'stringent punishment' to Rintu Sharma.
