Digital Desk: In a major initiative to promote a drug-free society, the Dhubri Marathon-2026 is set to take place under the powerful theme, "United We Run-Dhubri Against Drugs."
The event is a collaborative effort supported by the Dhubri district administration, Dhubri Medical College & Hospital, various government departments, and the Dhubri Gurudwara.
Scheduled for April 26, the marathon will be flagged off from the Raja Prabhat Chandra Baruah Playground.
During a press conference held today at the Dhubri District Sports Association office, Dr. Dina Raja, a professor and doctor at Dhubri Medical College & Hospital, detailed the event's structure.
The marathon will feature four competitive categories: 5 km, 10 km, 21 km, and 42 km.
A total of 800 participants are expected to take part in the event, with many athletes already arriving from across the country.
To facilitate their stay, the Dhubri Gurudwara has stepped forward to provide accommodation for the majority of the visiting participants.
