Digital Desk: For the first time, Assam Chief Minister,  Himanta Biswa Sarma will hoist the National Flag in Dibrugarh on this Republic Day. This historic event shows Dibrugarh’s growing prominence as the state government shift focus towards developing it as Assam’s second capital.

Emphasizing on strategic importance of Dibrugarh, CM shared his vision of uplifting of Dibrugarh town into an economic, cultural and administrative capital of u per Assam. Its aim to uplift Dibrugarh town and transform it into second capital in the state

Dibrugarh is known as the tea city of India and therefore it is most favorable place for growth due to its thriving tea industry, if transportation and infrastructure improves, Dibrugarh will also thrive and develop. Therefore, hoisting the national flag in Dibrugarh is significant as it shows Government’s commitment to the region’s development.

 Himanta Biswa Sarma is also expected to announce major changes like undertaking project infrastructure, healthcare, education, and tourism sector to boost growth in Dibrugarh. This effort aims to boost the local economy and decentralize governance and equal growth in Assam.

The People of the Dibrugarh, town have welcomed this historic move, viewing this as a first step towards the development. People are eagerly waiting for republic day as this day will mark an important role in Assam’s development journey.
