Digital Desk: In connection with the Dibrugarh University ragging case, one more accused has been arrested on Thursday night.

Reportedly, the arrested student has been identified as Kamleswar Chutia.

Earlier today, Dibrugarh University authorities initiated disciplinary action against three students. The decision was taken by the University's anti-ragging committee.

Kamal Krishna Kakati was expelled from the university and will be unable to apply to any other university for the next three years.

Meanwhile, two more students, Chitraban Baruah and Pawan Gogoi, have been suspended from the university for a year.

Notably, they were involved in the ragging case of Anand Sarma, who was forced to jump from a two-story building.

In connection with the incident, several students have been jailed and rusticated.

A few days ago, the main accused, Rahul Chetry, also surrendered before the police.

The ragging case also revealed that passed-out students were still living in the hostels of several universities in the state. Taking note of this, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma issued a warning about the issue and ordered that the college administration not permit former students to continue living in hostels.
