Mumbai: Highly elated over the warm response Ranveer Singh starrer ’83 is receiving, even before the film’s release, the actor welcome his co-stars and the 1983 World Cup-winning squad for the special screening of the movie.

Held  on Wednesday night, the star-studded event saw both the stars of the movie and the stars of the 1983 world cup winning squad, coming under the same roof to witness the movie screening.

Although are highly excited and waiting for the movie’s release, Ranveer Singh was caught in an ‘overtly excited’ situation or rather say ‘an awkward moment’ between him and the cricket legend Kapil Dev.

Camera’s caught the two greeting each other on the red carpet. While going ahead for a hug, Ranveer Singh was seen going for a peck. But unfortunately, the pic that surfaced online, looked like Ranveer and Kapil Dev ‘lip-locking’…ahhhmmm, very awkward!

Looking every inch as the man of the occasion, Ranveer Singh was seen sporting a ponytail, and a dapper self in a white tuxedo and black bowtie. While the 1983 cricket-team members, also called as Kapil’s Devils, walked the red carpet with their wives for the special film screening.

Ranveer Singh is seen essaying the role of the legendary former Indian captain Kapil Dev. While Deepika Padukone is playing the role of Romi Dev, Kapil Dev’s better-half.

Apart from Ranveer, the other stars who are playing pivotal roles in the movie are Tahir Raj Bhasin Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Dinker Sharma, Nishant Dahiya, Harrdy Sandhu, Sahil Khattar, Ammy Virk, Addinath Kothare, Dhairya Karwa, R. Badree and Pankaj Tripathi.
