Digital Desk: The Digi Yatra service will be made available at 6 additional airports namely: Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Lucknow, Jaipur, and Guwahati in the month of August 2023. At these airports, the installation and implementation of the Digi Yatra infrastructure will take place in a phased manner.

Digi Yatra has been implemented at four more airports, bringing the total number of Digi Yatra airports to seven since its launch by Minister of Civil Aviation and Steel, Jyotiraditya Scindia, on December 1, 2022, starting with the three airports, New Delhi, Varanasi, and Bengaluru. The six aforementioned airports will bring the overall number of Digi Yatra-enabled airports to thirteen.

Digi Yatra will have been used by 34,60,454 passengers as of August 10, 2023. The Digi Yatra mobile application has 1.29 million users as of the same day.

Based on Facial Recognition Technology (FRT), Digi Yatra is a mobile application-based service designed to allow contactless, seamless passenger processing at airports. It facilitates the use of paperless and contactless processing at airport checkpoints, validating travelers' identities and travel details using facial features.
