Digital Desk: A shocking incident unfolded in Dispur, Guwahati on June 28, where a young woman was violently attacked with a knife. Police have apprehended the suspect, identified as Raju Barman, a Rapido driver.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the attack stemmed from complications arising from a love triangle, involving the injured woman, Raju Barman, and another woman named Niki.
Early morning walkers witnessed the injured woman with blood stains on her body and immediately alerted the Dispur police.
The police arrived at the scene and rushed the woman to Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) for urgent medical care.
The woman sustained injuries to her head and neck but is reportedly out of danger.
According to police reports, the incident occurred late at night.
While Raju Barman has been apprehended for his alleged involvement, the victim has claimed that another young woman, identified as Niki, was the one who assaulted her.
Niki is said to be Raju Barman's girlfriend.
An investigation is underway.
