In the crucial Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) election, Delhi voters will choose representatives for 250 wards. Approximately 1.45 crore people are eligible to vote. 1,349 candidates are running for office, and the votes will be counted on December 7.

Digital Desk: The chairman of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Delhi's chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal pleaded with voters in his farewell message before the national capital went to the polls on Sunday to support an "honest party" rather than one that encourages corruption.

Kejriwal took to Twitter and wrote, "Today we are voting to make Delhi clean and beautiful, there is voting to make a corruption-free government in the municipal corporation. My appeal to all the Delhiites - go cast your vote today to form an honest and functioning government in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi."

In his second plea to voters, Kejriwal urged them to avoid voting for candidates who support violence, corruption, and abusive language. Vote for people who are employed; avoid voting for those who are not.

Taking to Twitter, Kejriwal wrote, "Vote for honest party, vote for decent and good people. Don't vote for gundaism, corruption and for those who abuse. Do not vote for those who litter Delhi. Vote for those who will make Delhi shine and clean. Vote for those who work, don't vote for those who stop working."

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) crushed the AAP and the Congress in the 2017 municipal corporation elections, taking 181 of the 270 wards up for a vote. Following the ward demarcation, this is the first municipal election to be held in the nation's capital.
