Digital Desk: The Assamese film industry has evolved greatly. The remarkable response of the audience to 'Dr Bezbaruah 2' is just astonishing, as the film shattered an 87-year-old record by earning 41.2 Lakhs on its first day of release, which is a huge milestone accomplished in the Assamese film industry.
Dr Bezbaruah 2 is a film released under AM Television and produced by Dr Sanjiv Narain and Dr Akshata Narain, proprietors of Prag News. The film was released on February 3 on Friday in Assam and other parts of the country on 142 Assam screens and eight cinema halls around the country, and it has wowed the audiences.
'Doctor Bezbaruah' directed by Late Brajen Baruah was released in 1969 and remains one of Assam's biggest sensations to this day. 'Dr Bezbaruah 2' is the sequel based on that successful film.
Dr Bezbaruah 2 is directed by renowned Late Actor Nipon Goswami. He also played a role in the film. His son Siddharth Goswami and daughter-in-law Kingkini Bhattacharya played the lead roles in the film. Furthermore, heartthrob Zubeen Garg had a crucial role in the film and he also directed the music.
Adil Hussain, an internationally renowned actor, played Dr Bezbaruah in the film.
The cinematography was done by Rajdeep and the sound design and mixing were done by Mumbai-based Assam duo Amrit Pritam and Debojit Changmai. The film also stars Madhurima Chowdhury and Arun Narayan among others.
While Cinematographer Rajdeep speaking about the success of the film added "The kind of expectations that the film has been able to meet from people is enough for me."
Screenwriter Rajdeep further added "This is my first film with Adil Hussain and I was nervous while sending the script to him. But later, Adil da called me and told me that he liked the script. I feel his words are an award for my script".
The success of the film has given a new perspective to the Assamese Film Industry. Dr Bezbaruah 2 anticipates much more love from the audience and hopes to make this the greatest hit and a new beginning for the Assamese Film Industry.
