Aizwal: The President of Mizo Students' Union (MSU), J. Lalmuanzuala, after the terrorizing clash in the Assam-Mizoram border, claimed that Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma is the main culprit behind the tension prevailing in the Assam-Mizoram border.

Writing an open letter, the MSU president alleged that the political disturbances which Himanta Biswa Sarma has created carry a hidden political aim.

“Inside the Inner Line Reserve Forest area of 509 sq miles, many illegal immigrants from Bangladesh resides in the area. Your sheer attempt to appease this population and give them an autonomous district council to strengthen your political ambition must end.”  Immediately.” MSU president alleged.

The MSU president, further giving warning to the Assam CM, asserted not to take the Mizos for granted, “If you do not want peace under the umbrella of the Indian Union, you better know that Mizos have the history of insurgency and taking arms in the past. We will not shy from repeating so if time asked to do it.”

“We all know that you put false declaration before the media and public against the Mizoram government so that you can hide the real truth putting at stack the lives of your people.” The President added.

Further, the President wrote, “With your actions, you had made enemies with the other northeastern states. Your disrespect towards the unity due to your personal profit even putting your people to death have shaken the peacemaking process among the sisters.”

Lastly, the President wrote, “We the Mizos are peace-loving people, and we wish to live in the Union of India, but if you try to play with us and blame us, we will not step back; we will fight.”
