Srinagar: Dreaded terrorist Salim Parray, linked with the banned terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), was shot dead by Jammu and Kashmir police, informed Inspector General of Police (Kashmir Zone) Vijay Kumar. Additionally, the Kashmir Zone Police also said that the operation is still ongoing and more information is awaited.

Kashmir Zone Police tweeted, “#SrinagarEncounterUpdate: Only 1 #terrorist neutralized. Terrorist Salim Parray of proscribed #terror outfit LeT Salim Parray neutralized. #Operation going on. Further details shall follow. IGP Kashmir@JmuKmrPolice.”

It is yet another victory by the security forces in its campaign against terrorism. On December 28, 2021, the security forces neutralized Samir Dar, the only surviving terrorist involved in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, as informed by the IGP Kashmir on Saturday.

As per official reports, Dar was involved in several terrorism-related activities and civilian atrocities. He taught the locals how to make IEDs and use them against security personnel.

“He has also been responsible for brainwashing, selective identification, radicalization, and providing arms to the young locals,” stated General Officer Commanding of Chinar Corps Lieutenant General DP Pandey.
