Digital Desk: Dream Girl 2 box office collection has seen a significant increase on the occasion of Raksha-Bandhan, the Ayushmann Khurrana starring film had a strong start at the box office on Friday and continues to do well during the weekdays.
According to early estimates from Sacnilk.com, the film, which also stars Ananya Panday, earned 7.75 crore on Raksha Bandhan. After six days, it has a total of 59.75 crore.
Dream Girl 2 began at 10.7 crore and grew to 16 crore on its first Sunday. It decreased to 5.42 crore on Monday but improved slightly on Wednesday, collecting 7.75 crore.
The film, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, is a contemplative follow-up to the 2019 film, which starred Ayushmann as a contact centre employee who can speak like a woman. He plays Pooja in Dream Girl 2 when he dresses up as a woman for money.
Ayushmann told ANI about his film's good first week, "In the last three months, mid-budget and small-budget films have also been running successfully." Previously, people believed that only big-budget films would be shown. So, the timing of the film is correct, and it came in between Jawan and Gadar 2 but still made its own place, and this will be Dream Girl 2's biggest victory."
"If the story is good and impactful, then not only the girl, but you will be ready to become a dinosaur," he stated while portraying Pooja on-screen.
"Actors aspire to do challenging job. Previously, performers such as Kamal Haasan sir, Govinda sir, and Aamir Khan sir have played female characters, but when it comes to competing with Madhuri, Sridevi, and Hema Malini for this role. Because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do justice if I focused on male actors." he further added.
Dream Girl 2 also stars Ananya Panday, Paresh Rawal, Annu Kapoor, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, Manoj Joshi, Asrani, Abhishek Banerjee, Manjot Singh, and Seema Pahwa. Ayushmann has stated that Annu Kapoor has always been "lucky" for him, as he has worked on successful projects with him such as Dream Girl and Vicky Donor.
