Digital Desk: A significant amount of drugs valued at Rs 12 crore was seized in Khanapara, Guwahati. In a Wagonr, the drugs were brought from Tripura. Police intercepted the car in Khanapara area of the city.

The ongoing war on illegal substances has seen significant progress with this interception. Special Task Force (STF) agents were alerted and promptly apprehended, apprehending two major players in this illicit enterprise. One and a half kg of heroin were discovered with the suspects, Jamal Ali and Salimuddin from Goraimari. A Wagonr car with the license plate AS 01 FN 7633 was used to covertly conceal this illegal material.

Inspector General of Police Partha Sarathi Mahanta and Additional Superintendent of Police Kalyan Pathak oversaw the operation. These drugs were successfully seized because of their quick thinking and teamwork, which stopped them from traveling to Guwahati as planned.
