Digital Desk: According to a senior official on Friday, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has detained six people, including a former Air India pilot, and confiscated 60 kilograms of mephedrone narcotics valued at more than Rs 120 crore from Mumbai and Gujarat.


The Naval Intelligence unit at Jamnagar, Gujarat, acquired precise information on which to base its action, according to Sanjay Singh, the NCB's deputy director general, who spoke at a press conference held here.


On October 3, "after the tip-off," Jamnagar was raided by representatives from the NCB's Mumbai zonal section and Delhi headquarters, who found 10 kilograms of mephedrone.


 The NCB team had arrested one person from Jamnagar and three more were held from Mumbai in this connection, Singh added.

 After that, the anti-drug agency arrested two persons, including the kingpin of the cartel, he said, adding that one of the accused, Sohail Gafar Mahida, is a former Air India pilot.
