Digital Desk: On Friday, the Cachar District Administration in Assam declared two days in October to be "Dry Days."

The dates of October 2 and October 5 were designated as dry days by the authorities. Notably, October 2 has been designated a dry day in observance of Gandhi Jayanti, while the state will commemorate Sankardeva's birth anniversary on October 5.

In the two instances, all district-licensed liquor stores were told to stay closed and refrain from selling alcohol.

The order to observe a dry day on the two occasions came today from the office of the District Magistrate.
