Digital Desk: Uttar Pradesh was hit by a moderate earthquake on Saturday. The quake, of 5.2-magnitude on richter scale, hit 139 kilometers north-northeast of Lucknow. The National Centre for Seismology estimates that the earthquake occurred 82 kilometers below the ground.

Other districts in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, as well as the nearby Lakhimpur Kheri, felt the tremors. The epicenter of the earthquake is said to be in Nepal's Sanoshree Taratal. Some areas of China also experienced the effects of the earthquake.

There have been no reports of injuries or unintended consequences of the earthquake up to this point. However, after the tremors, terror swept over the area. More information is still awaited. 

Mild vibrations were recorded earlier in the day in Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh region, which had just experienced an earthquake with a Richter Scale value of 3.6. There were no reported losses of life or property. Another earthquake with a value of 3.1 on the Richter Scale struck Hanley village in Jammu & Kashmir.
