Digital Desk: The German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported a magnitude 6.5 earthquake on Mindoro island in the northern Philippines on Thursday.

According to GFZ, the quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres (6.21 miles).

According to Reuters witnesses, the tremors were felt in Manila and adjacent regions.

According to the Philippine Seismology Agency, a magnitude 6.2 earthquake was also registered, and damage and aftershocks are expected.
