The Minister claimed that the use of innovative medical technologies was leading the way in both public and commercial hospitals like SIMS in Tamil Nadu.

Digital Desk: Including robotic procedures under the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme is something Tamil Nadu's government will examine, according to Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ma. Subramanian on Wednesday (CMCHIS).

He claimed that by introducing modern robotic technology at SRM Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) Hospital, the underprivileged might gain access to cutting-edge innovations like robotic surgery.

He stated that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin would be contacted about the plan to include robotic surgeries under the CMCHIS. The first robotic device to be deployed in an Indian state-run hospital was at Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Speciality Hospital earlier this year. He claimed that 69 people had benefited from it.

The Minister claimed that the use of innovative medical technologies was leading the way in both public and commercial hospitals like SIMS in Tamil Nadu. "I have inaugurated robotic technology at three private hospitals in Chennai in the last year alone," he remarked.

The newly installed robotic equipment will offer more accuracy, improved precision, dexterity, and expanded flexibility, coupled with safety and control, according to Ravi Pachamuthu, chairman of SRM Group.

The next-generation robotic equipment now being used at the hospital, according to Patta Radhakrishnan, director and senior consultant at the Institute of Gastroenterology, Hepatobiliary Science and Transplantation at SIMS Hospital, will not only shorten the recovery time of the patients but also enhance their quality of life.
