The two violated the Model Code of Conduct because, in the Commission's opinion, they conducted a low-level personal attack.

During the Model Code of Conduct time, they have been advised to use caution when speaking in public. From Monday onwards, the Commission will be keeping a close eye on their communications pertaining to the election.

DILIP GHOSH AND SUPRIYA SHRINATE'S DEROGATORY REMARKS

Following the Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut's nomination by the BJP to represent Mandi in Himachal Pradesh in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, Supriya Shrinate made a contentious remark on social media.

After a backlash, Shrinate deleted the divisive comments from all of her social media profiles, saying that someone else with access to her accounts had posted them instead of her.

Concurrently, Dilip Ghosh was caught on camera making fun of Mamata Banerjee, the leader of the Trinamool Congress, and her family history.

"Didi becomes Goa's daughter after moving to Goa. She says, "I am Tripura's daughter," in Tripuro. Choose the father you want. This is incorrect," remarked the BJP leader.

He did, however, eventually issue an apology for his criticism of the chief minister of West Bengal.

In reaction to "insulting, offensive, and derogatory remarks against the honour and dignity of women," the poll board had earlier sent a show-cause notice to both leaders.
