The removal of the blocking feature might also violate the policies of app stores like Apple's App Store and Google Play...

Digital Desk: Elon Musk, the owner of X (formerly known as Twitter), stated that the blocking option will be removed for users since it "makes no sense." Users will still be able to block other users from messaging them directly.

Musk has made a lot of changes since purchasing the website in a $44 billion acquisition last year, and this is just one of them. Currently, blocking an account prohibits posts-old from that account from showing up in the blocker's timeline and vice versa. The blocked account also loses the ability to view its posts-old and send messages to the blocker.

It's interesting to note that Musk's approach was supported by Jack Dorsey, the former founder of Twitter, who tweeted "100%. Mute only." Some people have expressed worry that muting an account could not offer enough defense against harassment, abuse, or stalking. Currently, the muted account can still watch and respond to the muter's posts-old even though the mute function just silences notifications about the account's postings.

The removal of the blocking feature might also violate the policies of app stores like Apple's App Store and Google Play, which demand that social media apps have filters to prevent harassment and bullying. In such a case, it's possible that these platforms would no longer provide X for download.

The world's richest man, Elon Musk, has changed the social media platform in several ways taking over it. This includes the dismissal of the company's top management team and the imposition of a fee for the "blue tick" (or verification) feature of the website.
