Wellington: New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has temporarily suspended the entry of Indians as well as its citizens coming from India to New Zealand following a sudden surge in the number of covid cases in India. The suspension will start from April and will remain until April 28.

India has been witnessing a surge in the number of covid cases, becoming the second country after US with the highest number of covid cases in the world.

Maharashtra continues to be the worst hit state in the country with highest number of caseload of covid positive cases.

Lockdown and night curfew have been imposed in some areas citing higher covid caseload.
