Digital Desk: Several current and former European leaders have written to the Norwegian Nobel Committee requesting that Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskyy be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022. The nomination process will be extended until March 31. "We sincerely request that you, the Committee, consider: Extending and thereby re-opening the Nobel Peace Prize nomination procedure until March 31, 2022 to allow for a Nobel Peace Prize nomination for President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the people of Ukraine," the statement read. The Nobel Prize announcements will take place from October 3 to 10. A total of 251 people and 92 organisations applied for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022.
