Initial reports and footage indicate that he was detained after a TV interview from the Guwahati headquarters of a private satellite channel.


Digital Desk: Sub-inspector (SI) Junmoni Rabha's suspicious death was picked up by the criminal investigation department (CID) on Thursday.

The eyewitness has been identified as Pranab Das who is a resident of Bokakhat in Golaghat district.

Initial reports and footage indicate that he was detained after a TV interview from the Guwahati headquarters of a private satellite channel.

Previously, Das claimed that Junmoni's vehicle was stopped and parked on the left side of the national highway when the collision occurred.

Das added that he had arrived at the scene at the time of the occurrence after travelling from Guwahati.

Das stated, "I saw the car parked on the left side of the highway when all of a sudden a truck coming from the opposite side hit it and crashed the car."

"Immediately following the event, he spotted a man wearing black jeans getting out of the car," the witness continued.

He added, "I was waiting there for a few minutes following the collision. However, I left the area after being told to do so by a Jakhalabandha police officer.
