Digital Desk: The Special Task Force (STF) Assam on Tuesday confiscated Rs. 14.50 lakh in fake currency during an operation in the Goalpara area, furthering the fight against Fake Indian Currency Noted (FICN).

In accordance with the instructions of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) STF Partha Sarathi Mahanta, an operation was conducted in the Krishnai neighbourhood where they intercepted an ALTO automobile with the registration number AS18 F 6863 and recovered Rs. 14.50 in cash in denominations of 500.

Three people were detained in the connection with the seizure. Anowar Hussain, Rafiq Ahmed, and Growel Marak have been named as the suspects.

According to an STF said, "STF Assam conducted an operation against FICN in a region under the control of the Krishnai Police Station under the direction of DIG Partha Sarathi Mahanta. Three mobile phones, 14.50 lakh false rupee notes, and an Alto automobile were all recovered as a result of the operation. Additionally, three people were detained in connection with the seizure."

According to legal protocol, he advised that a case would be filed and that an investigation would start right away.
