  • Halowating police apprehended the tantrics from Lanka

Digital Desk: In Halowating, Amguri in Sivasagar, blind faith has brought tragedy to a family. A family in the Halowating market had lost their family member, Biswajit Malakar, due to excessive faith in fraudulent tantric healers.

In a desperate attempt to cure Malakar, who had been suffering from a prolonged illness, his family sought help from two tantric healers.

The healers allegedly looted the family's gold ornaments in the name of purifying the house. Following this, the victim family approached the Halowating police.

Acting on a secret tip-off, the Halowating police apprehended the tantrics, identified as Ayatullah Oja and Hasan Ahmed from Lanka, Hojai.

The police also seized a motorcycle bearing registration number AS 31 D 9793 from the fraudsters.

Both frauds have been accused of cheating multiple people in the Halowating area for a long time.

The police have registered a case, and an investigation is underway.
