Digital Desk: Filmmaker Karan Johar will be honoured for his significant contribution to the global entertainment industry at the British Parliament next week, Tuesday 20th June 2023 in the presence of Lords and Members of Parliament.

The ceremony will be held at the Palace of Westminster, which is where the House of Commons and the House of Lords, the two houses of the British Parliament, convene.

Johar has a special relationship with the UK as many of his productions, including Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, were filmed there.

He was appointed in 2012 to serve as a Goodwill Ambassador for Visit Britain as part of a special initiative to entice and welcome people to go to and explore the nation. At the time of their separate theatrical premieres, his blockbuster flicks My Name Is Khan and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham broke records as the highest-grossing Indian film in the UK.

Currently, he is the head of Dharma Productions, one of India's leading companies for motion pictures. His company produced Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, Sooryavanshi, Baahubhali, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, among other movies. His upcoming movie, Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, starring British actress Alia Bhatt and actor Ranveer Singh, will honour his 25th year in the international entertainment business. It will be released this summer on July 28 in UK theatres and internationally.
