Digital Desk: Assam Police recovered a total of five grenades from two different places in Assam on September 12. Two grenades were recovered in Dibrugarh, while three more were recovered from Tinsukia.
The Assam Police suspects plan of violence in Assam after the grenades were recovered. Taking to social media, the Assam DGP GP singh wrote, "Plan of violence stymied in Upper Assam. Two grenades recovered in Dibrugarh."
One an National Socialist Council of Nagalim-Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) cadre was also apprehended.
The Assam Police in collaboration with 6 Sikh apprehended the accused NSCN-IM cadre of Miao sub-district in Changlang district in Arunachal Pradesh on September 12. The man was apprehended in Pengeri in Tinsukia.
2 pistols, 3 grenades, and several rounds of ammunition were also recovered from the possession of the accused man.
According to reports, the joint team to nab the NSCN-IM cadre was led by the Officer in Charge of Pengeri Police Station Nabin Chetia.
Further investigation is going on.
