Digital Desk: As many as five drug dealers were apprehended with drugs worth over Rs 70 lakhs during search operations in Badarpur, Assam, stated the authorities.

The Badarpur Police conducted the raids in response to particular intelligence regarding one of the five women being involved in the smuggling operation.

From the smugglers, the police confiscated around 277.22 grams of heroin. The detainees were identified as Hassan Ali, Najir Uddin, Babul Hussain Laskar, Lalsanjo and Tunhaulian Langel.

Two of the detainees are from Churachandpur in Manipur, while the other three are from Badarpur. The accused were apprehended during a drug deal behind a pan shop next to a mosque in the West Deorail area of Badarpur. 

The drugs were transported from Mizoram to Badarpur for distribution, as reported by officials.
