Floodwaters also entered the office of the Doboka Revenue Circle Officer, bringing government operations to a standstill
Digital Desk: Today, the Yamuna River unleashed devastating floodwaters in Doboka, triggering widespread destruction and panic among residents. The ferocious current washed away a wooden bridge linking Yamunamukh, and some dramatic visuals of the flooding were captured by the camera. Continuous and heavy rainfall has resulted in the flooding of vast areas as several embankments have collapsed, and heavy rainfall has led to the inundation of large areas, severely affecting normal life.
Breaches were reported at three different locations, worsening the flood situation. Residents fled their houses to find a safe place, and everywhere was in disorder as water from the floods flowed to residential and administrative quarters. In a harrowing moment, a child almost ended up being swept by the river waters in the arms of his father.
The floodwaters also entered the office of the Doboka Revenue Circle Officer, rendering the operations of the government at a standstill. The situation continues to escalate with an increment in the levels of water, which is a major threat to the infrastructure.
The RCC bridge linking Doboka has now been endangered, and the authorities are afraid the bridge might collapse at any time in case of rising water pressure. Upon feeling vibration on the structure itself, the Public Works Department was fast to close the bridge as a precautionary move to prevent imminent loss.
