Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has addressed the recent incident in Panjabari, Guwahati, where pork meat was reportedly discovered inside a mosque.
Addressing the media, CM Sarma said that if beef is placed into a mosque, and pork is placed into a Namghar or other Hindu religious sites, such actions must be condemned and stopped immediately.
Some individuals attempt to use beef as a tool to provoke and divide, believing that placing it in sacred places will drive Hindu people away, he added.
He further stated that if pork is placed in religious sites, it could provoke Muslim communities, which is why neither beef nor pork should be used as instruments of division.
Sacred places like Namghar and mosque must remain free from such provocations. Assam should uphold its identity as a region of peace and progress, where harmony prevails over conflict, CM Sarma said.
If incidents involving the placing of beef or pork occur, it is essential to initiate movements against such acts.
Authorities must ensure that those responsible for such criminal activities are brought to justice swiftly.
