Digital Desk: Taylor Hawkins, drummer for the multi-Grammy award-winning rock band the Foo Fighters, died on Friday, his colleagues said in a statement. He was 50 years old . "The tragic and untimely loss of our dear Taylor Hawkins has crushed the Foo Fighters family," the band wrote in a statement on Twitter. "His contagious humour and musical passion will live on with all of us forever," they wrote. Hawkins died on the same day the band was scheduled to perform at the Festival Estereo Picnic in Bogota, Colombia, according to the announcement. Taylor had been a member of the Foo Fighters, one of the most important and highly acclaimed alternative rock bands in the United States, since 1997, and had played percussion on some of the band's biggest successes, including "Learn to Fly" and "Best of You."
