Digital Desk: The All Assam Students' Union (AASU) former president Dipanka Kumar Nath was formally named the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Assam State Secretary on March 23. 

Bhabesh Kalita, state president of the BJP, made the declaration. On January 28, a ceremony was held at the BJP State headquarters in Basistha, Guwahati, where Nath and a number of other prominent state leaders joined the BJP. 
 
A number of prominent members of the Bharatiya Janata Party attended the function, including Bhabesh Kalita, Diganta Kalita, Manab Deka, and Jayanta Mallabaruah, the cabinet minister for Assam. 
 
An important boost to the BJP's chances of winning the Assam seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is anticipated from this appointment.
