Former Congress MLA Sherman Ali has been granted bail on Monday, 6th December 2021, by Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court. He has been granted bail in all three cases registered by the Geetanagar police station.    
 
Former Congress MLA Sherman Ali will be stepping out of the jail after two months.  
 
 He was arrested by The Chief Minister’s Special Vigilance Cell on October 6 over his alleged complicity in the misappropriation of funds that was sanctioned for the construction of roads in Mandi block under his constituency.  

Also, six more people were arrested by The CM vigilance cell in June over charges of misappropriation of funds over RS.25 lacs. Of whom three were government officials.   A total of Rs.35 lacs was released for road construction under 14 MLA local area development schemes in 2017-18. Of the money released, Sherman Ali allegedly drained off Rs. 25,08, 323 without completing the designated work.
