Digital Desk: Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has sharply criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the recent cancellation of the UGC-NET exam and the ongoing issues surrounding NEET. Gogoi expressed his dismay, highlighting that 24 lakh NEET aspirants and 9 lakh NET candidates have been adversely affected by these developments. He accused PM Modi of remaining silent on these critical issues, which, according to Gogoi, has led to a significant betrayal of the youth's trust.
"Prime Minister Modi has failed the youth of India," Gogoi stated. "With the NEET exam, 24 lakh people have been disappointed, and through the NET exam, 9 lakh students have been betrayed. Yet the PM chooses to be silent. Rahul Gandhi and Congress will not let them go." In response to this, the Congress party has planned a nationwide protest, with Rahul Gandhi set to raise the NEET students' plight in the House.
The cancellation of the UGC-NET 2024 exam came after intelligence inputs from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit raised concerns regarding the exam's integrity shortly after its conclusion. These red flags prompted the Ministry to prioritize transparency and uphold the sanctity of the examination process by deciding to cancel and reschedule the exam at a later date.

The NEET-UG results have been tainted by allegations of irregularities, including the awarding of grace marks and alleged paper leaks.
In response, the Ministry of Education has initiated measures to address these concerns, including seeking detailed reports from authorities regarding the alleged irregularities in exam conduct in specific regions.
