Digital Desk: As many as 40 houses were evicted from Bhootnath in Guwahati's concrete city.

According to sources, the eviction drive was carried out by the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) in conjunction with the District Administration.

These 40 unlawfully constructed dwellings were evicted during the eviction.

Notably, GMC has been conducting eviction drives around the city.

A few days ago, an eviction effort was carried out against unlawfully built stores under the Ulubari flyover near the Prag Tower building.

Officials at the location stated that the multiple mobile eateries put up beneath the flyover were prohibited. Several roadside stalls were evicted during the drive.
