Digital Desk: Ringing in some relief for consumers on New Year, National Oil Marketing companies have slashed the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder by Rs 102.50 effective from January 2022.

The commercial LPG cylinder will now cost Rs 1998.50 in Delhi beginning January 1, 2022.

Earlier, the prices of 19 Kg LPG cylinders were increased by Rs 100 bringing the prices of the 19 kg commercial cylinders to Rs 2,101 in Delhi. Before that, the price made a record high in 2012 when the LPG cylinder cost around Rs 2,200 per cylinder.

However, no decrease in prices of domestic cylinders weighing 14.2 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg composite or 5 kg composite cylinders have been announced yet.

While the commercial 19 Kg cylinder will cost 1998.50 from today onwards, the prices of the cylinders for the same weight will cost Rs 2,072.

For the same it will cost Rs 1,948.5 in Mumbai. The 19 kg commercial cylinder will cost Rs 2,132 in Chennai.

The newly reduced prices of the commercial cylinders will be a big relief for eateries, restaurants and tea stalls, which constitute the bigger chunk of the 19 kg cylinder consumer market.

The rate of LPG cylinder is revised monthly for all the states and Union Territories in India by the Oil Marketing Companies of India.
