Digital Desk: On the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5, 2023, a street play will be organised by the Department of Environment and Forest of the Government of India in collaboration with the Directorate of Culture Affairs to raise public awareness about the importance of creating a plastic-free environment. Assam Minister for Cultural Affairs Bimal Borah announced this on Saturday.


Borah stated at a news conference held at Rabindra Bhawan, "A street play titled 'Plastic Eru Prithivi Gorhu' will be staged in all districts of the state."


Borah took to Twitter about arranging the street play, "World Environment Day is organised to generate awareness, encourage action, and foster a sense of global responsibility towards the environment. It also reminds us that everyone can make a difference and that collective effort is required for a greener and healthier planet. To preserve the planet attractive, we must work to create a plastic-free environment, and street plays can be an effective instrument for expressing critical messages and involving the community in this endeavour."


"On the occasion of World Environment Day on 5 June 2023, a street play titled "প্লাষ্টিকএৰোপৃথিবীগঢ়ো” will be organised under the initiative of the GoA's Department of Environment and Forest in collaboration with the Directorate of Culture Affairs to raise public awareness about creating a plastic-free environment. The play will be performed in all districts on the same day. Such activities and projects are critical in raising environmental awareness and supporting sustainable practises." Borah notified.
