New Delhi India has recorded its highest-ever single-day spike of over 2.73 lakh Covid-19 cases, according to the Union health ministry, as several states grapple with shortage of beds, medicines and depleting oxygen reserves. With over 2.73 lakh fresh number of Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, India's caseload has climbed to 1,50,61,919.

India’s death toll reached 1,78769 cases with over 1,619 fatalities due to the contagion in the last 24 hours. A total of 1,44,178 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours, as per the Union health ministry. Maharashtra, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh remain the top three states that have contributed the most to the daily Covid-19 spike.
