Digital Desk: In a significant development, Guwahati police arrested three individuals, believed to be linkmen associated with the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) on Tuesday.

The trio was apprehended during an operation earlier today, according to information obtained, from BBC colony in the Maligaon region of Guwahati. The police squad found a handgun and some ammunition in their possession after searching.

The arrestees have been identified as Asil Adhikari, Moon Debnath, and Rupjyoti Das.

Further investigation is underway.

Four people were taken into custody earlier on Sunday on suspicion of being connected to the recent incident in Sivasagar.

According to sources, there is a possibility that these four people were closely associated with the outlawed terrorist organization ULFA-I.

The outfit’s Chief Paresh Baruah admitted that his group was responsible for the attack.
