Digital Desk: As many as 37 people have been arrested so far by the Guwahati Police Commissionerate in connection to the busting of a huge network of cyber financial criminals linked to international syndicates.

According to reports, all of them will be produced before the court on Saturday.

Meanwhile, another raid was conducted at a fake call center in Jupiter Palace in the ABC locality of Guwahati last night, which was operated by one Arindam Sinha.

Five more people from the Jupiter Palace were taken into custody by the police.

Several youths were hired as 'tech support employees' with a basic salary of Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 per month.

The Guwahati Police raided eight dubious call centers simultaneously in different parts of the city on Friday, busting up a huge cybercrime network.





Three masterminds, identified as Debajyoti Dey alias David (31) from Karimganj, Rajan Sidana (39) from Ludhiana, and Divyam Arora (31) from Delhi, were arrested during the raid.

Reportedly, 191 operatives, including 144 men and 47 women, were detained.

Additionally, 26 cell phones, 90 laptops, and 164 desktop computers were seized during these operations.

Further investigation is underway.

Taking to Twitter, Assam Director General of Police GP Singh praised the Guwahati police for the operation. He said, "I must compliment the Police Commissionerate of Guwahati for busting a huge network of cyber-financial criminal networks connected to international syndicates. Compliments to CP Diganta Barah, Joint CP Prateek Thube, and all District and Crime Branch officers and personnel."


He warned all those who openly or covertly support such activities that damage the reputation of the state.
