It should be noted that Prayagraj Police has previously filed a complaint in Allahabad High Court alleging that Meena was subjected to dowry harassment and assault.....

Digital desk: The Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) joint Secretary (Adhoc) and Regional Officer of Guwahati, Lakhan Lal Meena, has been placed under immediate suspension, according to an order issued by Nidhi Chibber, chairperson of the CBSE, on Monday, March 18.

"Whereas a disciplinary proceeding against L.L. Meena, Joint Secretary (Adhoc) and Regional Officer, CBSE, Regional Office, Guwahati, is being contemplated," stated the notice released by the CBSE.

The purpose of Meena's "disciplinary proceeding" was not made explicit in the CBSE statement.

It should be noted that Prayagraj Police has previously filed a complaint in Allahabad High Court alleging that Meena was subjected to dowry harassment and assault.

The FIR mentioned, "Now therefore, the undersigned, in exercise of powers conferred by Rule 9.1 of Chapter 9 of CBSE Service Rules, 1985, hereby places the said Shri L.L. Meena under suspension with immediate effect."

"It is further ordered that during the period that this order shall remain in force, the headquarters of Shri L.L. Meena shall be CBSE, Headquarters, Delhi and the said Shri L.L. Meena shall not leave the headquarters without obtaining the previous permission of the Competent Authority.”

In line with the case, in 2013 the petitioner Meena was the subject of a formal complaint filed under sections 376, 412, 495, 313, 317, 498-A, 307, 323, 406 IPC and 3/4 DP Act at the Dhumanganj police station in Allahabad. Following the inquiry, the charge sheet was filed by the police.

In this case, the High Court granted Meena temporary relief and halted the criminal case's progress.

However, on February 2, 2024, ACJM Allahabad issued a non-bailable warrant against the petitioner and summoned him since they were unable to obtain current information regarding the interim ruling.

The matter has been forwarded to the Supreme Court by the High Court. The Supreme Court heard the High Court Full Bench's query and then postponed making a ruling. On this, a decision has not yet been made.
